Link types and how to order your page

A page's power comes from order, not the number of links. The visitor reads the first three rows; the rest needs scrolling. This article covers what the types do and how to order by a single goal.

Five groups

The add-link window groups the types into five: Social, Contact, Content, Business and Custom. If the app you're after isn't listed, any address can be added as a Custom URL.

Choose a single goal

The question that sets the order: what do you want the visitor to do first? Four common answers and the first three rows for each:

GOAL
FIRST THREE ROWS
Make a sale
Package and price list, your own site, program sign-up
Get a message
WhatsApp, phone, contact form
Visit / appointment
Calendar, Google Maps, a note of your hours
Gain followers
Instagram, TikTok, YouTube

You can change the order anytime by dragging and dropping the rows.

Rule

The visitor reads the first three rows and often never sees the rest. Put your most valuable link at the top and keep the list under seven.

Changing the appearance

In the inline editor's Appearance tab you can add a Thumbnail (an Image or an Icon) to each link and set its Highlight style to Standard, Featured or Animated (Animated is Pro). A single featured row is usually enough; with two, both stop standing out.

Hide or delete

When a campaign ends, instead of deleting the link, flip the row's toggle off: the row is hidden and its past click data stays in Analytics. For recurring campaigns, use Scheduling (Pro) to set a start and end date; the row opens and closes on its own.

What to check in the first week

In Analytics → Links, find the rows with the lowest click rate. The Links screen also shows, in a card, the links not clicked in the last 30 days. Move such a row up, clarify its title, or hide it. Fixing the order usually helps more than adding a new link.
